The Unarchiver 3.11.1 For Macos Mac

The Unarchiver is a universal archive extraction tool for OS X. It supports many old formats, and if you have a format it doesn't support, file a bug and attach samples, and very likely support will be added.

  • The Unarchiver 3.11.1 - '.tar.Z' Crash (PoC). Dos exploit for OSX platform.
  • The Unarchiver, one of the more handy tools for, uh, unarchiving, um, archives, is now a commercial app. 3.11.1 can run on 10.4 PowerPC, but the 'legacy' download they offer has a defective resource fork, and the source code is no longer available. The same author also wrote an image display tool called Xee. 2.2 would run on 10.4 PowerPC.

The Unarchiver for Mac is a much more capable replacement for 'Archive Utility.app', the built-in archive extraction software on macOS. The Unarchiver is designed to handle many more formats than Archive Utility, and to better fit in with the design of the Finder. It can also handle filenames in foreign character sets, created with non-English versions of other operating systems. I personally find it useful for opening Japanese archives, but it should handle many other languages just as well.
It is very simple to use and install - simply copy it into your Applications folder, or whereever else you might prefer, and then set it as the default program for archive files. This can be done either from the preferences panel in the program itself or in the Finder. Supported file formats include Zip, Tar-GZip, Tar-BZip2, RAR, 7-zip, LhA, StuffIt and many other old and obscure formats. The Unarchiver for macOS, a quick and free way to unpack your files!
